The world’s most renowned newspaper, the New York Times, has said that Indian media indulged in baseless propaganda during the war against Pakistan and tried to portray to the world that the Indian Army had made advances in the war, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

It has said that the Indian anchors as well as analysts played the role of cheerleaders to make sure that the two nuclear countries fought an all-out war.

The newspaper has said that it is because of this that the Godi media had to face a lot of embarrassment at the international level.

Quoting the Indian media, the paper has said that India attacked Pakistan’s nuclear installations besides downing the country’s two fighter jets.

Similarly, Indian media also claimed that the country’s Air Force had destroyed a part of Karachi port. “As a matter of fact, there was no truth in these reports,” the publication has said, adding that India relied on artificial intelligence to make fake videos in order to disseminate false information about the war.

The paper has said it is a matter of concern that not only was the trend witnessed on social media and little-known TV channels, but even on mainstream channels.

“Indian TV channels seemed to be in a rush to break news,” it has said, adding that some of these channels even claimed that the radiation emitted from Pakistan’s nuclear installations was due to the Indian attack.

On the other hand, defence experts have said that the Indian media’s irresponsible reporting is a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
