Punjab government Secretary of Agriculture Iftikhar Ali Saho has said that the cotton cultivation target will be achieved during the next ten days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
He said that the Punjab government assigned a cotton cultivation target on 35 lakh acres of land while cotton cultivation is already completed on 27 lakh acres of land.
Iftikhar Ali Saho said that special attention is being given to the safety and protection of the cotton crop.
He said that the cotton crop is now completely safe from pesticides and other disease attacks.
He said that due to the current heatwave, a special advisory is being issued for the cotton crops, and special teams have been constituted for this purpose.
Iftikhar Ali Saho said that agriculture experts and farmers are already included in these teams. He said that water is being provided to the cotton crop.
