Israeli military has detained Saad Edhi, son of prominent Pakistani philanthropist Faisal Edhi, and dozens of others who were part of Global Sumud Flotilla consisting of 500 volunteers from several countries carrying aid for Palestinians of Gaza, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
In a video message released just before Saad Edhi was arrested by the Israeli military, it can be seen that Israeli soldiers were attacking the volunteers.
Saad Edhi had joined more than 500 volunteers from several countries in the flotilla which had set off for Gaza from Marmaris, Turkiye, on May 14th.
The humanitarian mission, organised under the Global Sumud Flotilla initiative, was expected to take between six and seven days to reach its destination. The volunteers were carrying aid consisting of food and medicines for Palestinians.
