Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday summoned a special meeting to review budget proposals in Islamabad, reported 24News HD TV Channel.
During the meeting, the participants will review the volume of the budget 2026-27. After approval from the Prime Minister, various funds will be allocated for the development projects.
The meeting will also review the budget 2016-27 for the current fiscal year. Sources said that the government cut Rs174 billion from the federal development budget.
A comprehensive briefing will be given to the Prime Minister about the development expenditure.
Due to the regional situation, the government decided to grant a subsidy on petrol and cut the same amount from the development budget.
The development budget is decreased from Rs 100010 billion to Rs837 billion.
