NEPRA receives request to increase power tariff

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has asked the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the power tariff by 19 paisa per unit in monthly adjustment, 24NewdHD TV cited sources as saying on Wednesday.

According to the report, CPPA has submitted a request for monthly adjustment for August 2025 and Nepra has decided to take up the request on September 29.

According to government’s policy guidelines, monthly adjustment will apply to electricity and August monthly adjustment is likely to be made in October bills.

Nepra had notified the monthly adjustments in power tariff for June and July last week. At that time, power consumers got a relief of Rs2.57 per unit in the two monthly adjustments.

For the remaining consumers, Rs1.79 per unit adjustment was made for July. Discos consumers are getting the July adjustment in the bills of the current month.
