206 ‘corrupt’ police officers removed from posts in Lahore

As many as 206 police personnel and officers involved in corruption have removed from their posts in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to DIG operation Faisal Kamran, such 206 personnel and officers who received departmental penalties for corruption charges have been removed from their current positions.

Police Operations Wing has altered the postings of these 206 personnel and officers.

Decision has been made not to post personnel involved in corruption at police stations.

Personnel penalized departmentally for corruption are being kept away from public-facing roles.

Police officers and personnel who faced departmental action regarding corruption are not being assigned duties that involve public interaction.

Personnel involved in corruption are being posted to the Judicial Wing and other departments where there is no direct contact with the public.

Instead of being posted at police stations, personnel penalized for corruption are being assigned non-public-facing duties.

Officers involved in corruption are not being given responsibilities that entail direct interaction with the public.

Postings in the Judicial Wing and other non-public-facing departments aim to keep personnel penalized for corruption away from duties involving direct public contact.

Lahore Police Operations Wing is further intensifying departmental actions against corruption.
