The election petition challenging the victory of former Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Faisal Rathore has been adjourned till October 6.

The hearing could not take place today as the Chief Justice of AJK High Court Justice Sardar Liaquat Shaheen has left on foregoing tour.

Chaudhry Mohsin Aziz, who contested the election against Raja Faisal Rathore, had filed the election petition, alleging discrepancies in the Form 24 records.

The petitioner contended that the alleged discrepancies resulted in a reduction in his votes while increasing the vote count for Faisal Rathore. Ch Mohsin Aziz has requested the court to annul the ruling declaring Raja Faisal Rathore the winner.

The next hearing of the election petition is scheduled for October 6.
