Pakistan hockey player Abdul Rehman has won the men’s FIH Poligras Magic Skill Award following a global fan vote for standout moments from the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium and Netherlands 2026.
Abdul Rehman won the award for the men's competition for mind-blowing 3D skills that saw him skip past 4 defenders before adding a smart finish to score for Pakistan against Wales. Rehman's goal received 44% of the votes, narrowly edging ahead of Kenton Melville's audacious goal, which received 39%.
According to the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Rehman received 44 per cent of the votes in the men’s category, narrowly beating South Africa’s Kenton Melville, whose nominated goal secured 39 per cent.
Fans worldwide voted for the Poligras Magic Skill Award from September 4 to 13. Six moments from the World Cup — three each from the men’s and women’s competitions — were shortlisted for the honour.
The FIH said the award recognises outstanding skills and innovative moments produced by players during major international hockey competitions.
Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated Rehman on the international achievement and expressed confidence that his success would encourage emerging hockey players across Pakistan.
Rehman’s winning move had earlier been shortlisted by the FIH as “3-D Magic” following his performance against Wales at the World Cup.
India goalkeeper Bichu Devi Karibam won the women’s Poligras Magic Skill Award, receiving 52 per cent of the fan vote for her late reflex save against England.
