Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has hit back at critics questioning his visit to the grieving mother of 18 month old Aizal, insisting that his support for the family was not a reaction to the backlash surrounding his own controversial remarks about child abuse.
A clip from Rajab’s vlog has surfaced online in which the content creator directly addressed those accusing him of visiting Aizal’s family only to repair his public image following the controversy surrounding his TikTok Live remarks.
“I know very well that a lot of people will say I’ll get backlash for this and claim that I only went to Aizal’s house because the TikTok Live controversy is going on,” Rajab said.
He went on to claim that he had spoken about the tragic case and prayed for Aizal’s family even before social media personality Alina Amir became involved in the campaign.
“For your information, when this happened, I had already spoken about it in my vlog. I had also prayed and appealed to the government to take steps to stop such incidents,” he said.
Rajab then turned his criticism toward what he described as influencers who have been targeting him with the “women card,” questioning why they had not visited Aizal’s mother during the weeks following the tragedy.
“Forty-eight days have passed, but you people did not go to that mother. Then when I say you want fame, you start crying,” he remarked.
He further alleged that some influencers and celebrities only receive significant views when they mention his name, suggesting that his involvement had given them additional online attention.
Rajab’s remarks come shortly after he visited Aizal’s grieving mother at her home in Karachi and publicly expressed solidarity with her family. His visit attracted renewed attention online because it followed intense criticism over an old TikTok Live clip in which he made an inappropriate remark referring to child sexual abuse. Rajab later apologized, acknowledging that the joke was inappropriate and unacceptable.
In another video, Rajab also praised Alina Amir for her efforts in raising her voice for Aizal and supporting her mother’s pursuit of justice.
“I appreciated Alina Amir. In Punjab, she is the only girl who stepped out for Aizal. She has also been in contact with people in Sindh and continued discussions with them. She raised her voice for them in Lahore,” Rajab said.
He further claimed that Aizal’s mother was satisfied with Alina’s efforts, before directly addressing the social media activist.
“Alina, good job,” he added.
Alina has publicly supported Aizal’s mother’s campaign and participated in gatherings in Lahore calling for justice and stronger child-protection measures. She also accompanied Aizal’s mother during her recent meeting with Punjab Women Protection Authority Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt, where the authority assured the family of legal and moral support within its jurisdiction.
The case revolves around the death of 18-month-old Aizal in Karachi following an alleged sexual assault. According to police cited in court reporting, a teenage relative was taken into custody in connection with the case, while the investigation included an age report and awaited DNA results.
Aizal’s mother has continued seeking justice and recently travelled to Lahore, where she met Hina Parvez Butt and expressed concerns over the pace of progress in the case. Alina Amir was also present during the meeting.
