Missing Karachi trader found dead; cousin confesses to murder

A trader who had been missing for eight days was found dead in Karachi, with police saying the victim’s cousin was involved in the kidnapping and murder, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

According to Karachi police, the victim, identified as Rehan Ahmed, ran a business selling laboratory equipment and had gone missing on April 11.

A kidnapping case was registered on April 13 at Joharabad police station on the complaint of his son, Rohan Khan.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage, which showed the victim leaving with his cousin, Faisal, on the evening of his disappearance.

Acting on suspicion, police detained the suspect, Syed Faisal Karim, who later confessed during interrogation.

Police said Faisal admitted to luring Rehan Ahmed as part of a premeditated plan and handing him over to another suspect, Ziaullah alias Najeeb alias Haider.

The accused, along with three to four accomplices, allegedly tortured the victim to death.

Acting on his identification, police raided a locked apartment on Abul Hassan Isphahani Road, where they recovered the body.
