Russia has said it is prepared to assist in the transfer of enriched uranium from Iran, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
Acoording to the head of the country’s state nuclear energy organisation, the announcement was made by the chief of Russia’s nuclear agency, who stated that Moscow is ready to help facilitate the relocation of enriched uranium from Iran.
He noted that the process involves not only technical challenges but also a significant lack of trust between the United States and Iran.
He added that confidence issues remain a major obstacle in resolving the matter, alongside the technical complexities involved in handling nuclear materials.
The Russian official also recalled that in 2015, at Iran’s request, Russia had already assisted in the transfer of enriched uranium as part of earlier nuclear arrangements.
The latest remarks come amid continuing international discussions over Iran’s nuclear programme and efforts to manage tensions surrounding the issue.
