The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) announced the schedule for the Asia Cup tournament, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
After Pakistan and Oman refused to play in India and opted out of the tournament, the teams of Bangladesh and Kazakhstan were added to the Asia Cup.
There will be a total of 8 teams in the tournament and they will be divided into 2 groups, each having 4 teams. The tournament will kick off on 29th August. The teams added in Group A are India, Japan, China and Kazakhstan, and the teams added in Group B are Malaysia, Korea, Bangladesh and Chinese Taipei.
Oman has refused to play in the Hockey Asia Cup tournament in India.Pakistan has already opted out of the tournament and Oman becomes the second team to refuse to play in the Asia Cup. The Oman informed the organizers in written form for non-participation in the tournament.
According to the sources, Bangladesh is ready to play in the Asia Cup in place of Pakistan and after Oman opted out, there are chances of adding Kazakhstan in the tournament.
