Pakistan’s bilateral trade with Afghanistan has dropped by 12 percent in July 2025 despite a sharp increase in fruit imports, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, imports of grapes from Afghanistan jumped by 562 percent, apricots by 116 percent, and tomatoes by 212 percent last month. However, Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan dropped by 28 percent compared to June 2025 and 2 percent year-on-year.
Pak-Afghan exports stood at $102 million in July 2025, down from $142 million in June 2025 and $104 million in July 2024.
Meanwhile, imports rose from $16 million in June 2025 to $38 million in July 2025, and the same level recorded in July 2024. Officials said that overall trade volume between the two countries reached $138 million in July 2025, compared to $158 million in June 2025. In July 2024, the bilateral trade stood at $141 million.
