Police thwarted an attempt to supply a large quantity of kites and arrested three inter-provincial kite dealers in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
A police team headed by Station House Officer (SHO) Baghbanpura conducted an operation and arrested the kite-dealers.
Police said that they signaled a suspicious pick-up to stop at the Mehmood Booti area of Lahore, but the driver tried to escape from the scene.
The police chased the kite dealers; the police arrested the accused along with the kites, chemical-coated strings, and the pickup vehicle.
The arrested kite dealers were later identified as Khalid, Azeem Khan, and Jalal Khan.
Superintendent of Police Cantt Investigation Raheela Iqbal said that police recovered more than 6,000 kites, 60 strings, and 210 reels of deadly chemical strings worth millions of rupees from the accused.
