A court sentenced a man to life in prison on two counts in a case of murder after rape in Umerkot on Saturday.
The additional district and sessions judge also imposed a fine of Rs200,000 on the convict, Liaquat Ali.
Seven months ago, the man reportedly took a woman to Thar where he killed her after rape. The deceased was a guest at her maternal uncle’s house. Police registered the case on the complaint of the deceased uncle.
