Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari has announced to launch of a massive development process if they come into power, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the PPP workers’ convention in Turbat, Balochistan to revive the party in the Makran belt, the Former President of Pakistan vowed that still a lot needs to be done to develop Balochistan.
He said Balochistan’s development and prosperity were crucial for the development of Pakistan.
Zardari expressed his concern over what he called Islamabad’s lack of understanding about Balochistan.
It is ironic; Islamabad does not understand Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab,” Asif told the flag-waving supporters of the party in Turbat.
Zardari acknowledged past mistakes, vowing to address them through collaborative efforts and stressing the significance of peaceful nation-building.
Calling Balochistan as heart of the country, he outlined plans to bring water from Tajikistan to the province, foster economic growth in Gwadar, and collaborate with China.
He highlighted the abundant resources in Balochistan, emphasizing the untapped potential for progress.
Zardari envisioned a prosperous Balochistan becoming a global exporter, utilizing its vast resources for the benefit of the entire world. He stressed that with prosperity, peace would prevail, and efforts would be made to bring water to the region.
Zardari also promised to bring back the estranged Baloch youth and to establish universities in every division of the province. He also said that his party would provide jobs to people.
Zardari advocated for prioritizing Balochistan, urging the return of Baloch youth and highlighting their role in shaping the nation's future.
He said that despite serving Afghans for over 40 years they could not become our brethren.
PPP Co-Chairman stated that as a president he made 15 visits to China, all friends. He said the country has stood by Pakistan in all difficult times. “Who developed this Gwadar,” he said, adding it was China that developed the port city of the country.
Asif Zardari said his party understood the political dynamics, sensitivities, and demands, and that was the reason the party gave Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s name to Pashtoons.
“Pakhtoons fought against the British, and we know it was their right to get their name,” the PPP leader mentioned.
Recalling his time in jail, Zardari revealed his commitment to education, claiming to read 2 to 3 books daily. He asserted that wielding power would enable them to solve the nation's issues effectively.
Scores of political leaders from other political parties including former caretaker interior minister Sarfraz Bugti announced joining the PPP on the occasion.
