The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday rejected claims of interference in the Haripur by-election, asserting that efforts to pressure the Commission would fail.

Addressing allegations that Form 47 was issued from Islamabad, the ECP clarified that the form was prepared and issued by the Returning Officer in NA-18 Haripur.

The Commission received Form 47 at 3:16 am on November 24, while the District Returning Officer provided the same result at 3:22 am. Form 47 was subsequently uploaded on the ECP website at 4:28 am.

The Commission confirmed that Forms 48 and 49 were also submitted on the due date and that Form 47 is publicly available on the ECP website with the Returning Officer’s signature.

The ECP stated that it remains the proper forum for any complaints regarding election results and warned that action would be taken against those spreading baseless and misleading propaganda.
