Federal government announces major transfers and appointments of civil and police officers

The federal government Friday issued orders for the reshuffle, transfer, and appointment of several senior civil and police officers across federal ministries and divisions.

Among the key postings, Nadeem Ahmed Abro, a Grade 20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service serving in the Punjab government, has been transferred and appointed as Joint Secretary in the National Security Division.

Muhammad Khalifa, previously Joint Secretary in the Industries and Production Division, has been moved to the Defense Division in the same capacity. Farah Farooq, Director General of Special Economic Zones at the Board of Investment, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Industries and Production Division.

Tariq Salam, previously Deputy Secretary in the Home Division, has been promoted to Joint Secretary in the same division under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973. Deputy Secretary Najeeb Akram has been transferred from the Economic Affairs Division to the Ministry of National Food Security, while Section Officer Ghulam Murtaza has been moved from the Interior Division to the National Food Security Division. Mahmood Ahmed Bhatti, who was awaiting appointment, has been appointed Section Officer in the National Food Security Division.

In the police cadre, two Grade 18 officers, Awais Ali Khan and Ayaz Hussain, previously posted in the Punjab government, have been transferred to the Islamabad Police. Additionally, Grade 17 officer Hafsa Bint Bilal, who was serving in the Benazir Income Support Program, has been transferred and her services assigned to the Establishment Division.
