Jamshoro Joint Venture Ltd plant resumes operation

In a major development in the energy sector, Jamshoro Joint Venture Limited (JJVL) Energy Plant started functioning again after a five-year closure, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to details, after the revival of the operation the plant will save about $200 million annually. 

The government will also generate Rs3 billion under the head of different taxes from the plant.

It is necessary to mention here that special measures adopted by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) played a vital role in the operation of the plant.

Sui Southern Gas Company expects to earn $2 billion in revenue from this plant. The plant will employ 5000 people directly or indirectly.

SIFC created a regulatory environment that played a key role in increasing investors' confidence.

Increased local production could meet the energy needs of more than 750,000 households.

Chairman of Associated Group Iqbal Ahmad thanked the SIFC for extending full support to resume operations of the plant.

He said that due to SIFC facilitation, the government will earn $250 million through the production of the plant.

He said that Pakistan’s economy is strengthening and our country has entered into a new era of progress and investment.
