A strong earthquake was felt in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Friday, creating panic among residents in several districts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale which occurred at a depth of 12 kilometers. Its epicenter was located in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan.
The tremors were reported in upper regions, including Malakand, Dir, and Chitral, while aftershock was also felt in Landikotal and the surrounding areas of Khyber district.
The strong earthquake created a state of panic among the people who rushed out their homes and offices reciting Kalmah and verses of the Holy Quran. Fortunately no report of any loss of life or property was received so far.
