Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Sunday asked to refrain from unnecessary controversies as a 15-day leave of RPO Rawalpindi was approved on Jan 30, 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Mohsin Naqvi said that RPO Rawalpindi is a dedicated career officer deserving our respect. Therefore, we should not involve in unnecessary controversies regarding leaves of the respected police officer.

It is pertinent that a day after Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha confessed to his role in rigging the Feb 8 elections, the city's regional police officer (RPO), Syed Khurram Ali took a 15-day leave. Khurram Ali said he and his family were leaving for a 15-day trip to the United Kingdom.

The RPO attended the office on Friday and later the same evening travelled to Lahore. The sources said that he has 15-day leave and should rejoin his duty from March 2.

In an effort to settle the dust raised by the issue, Punjab Chief Minister asked the social media activists and others to avoid making a mountain out of a molehill.
