An Afghan national involved in a robbery was arrested following a police encounter in Central Gulberg, Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Speaking to the channel, the 17-year-old Afghan suspect admitted that he resides in Al-Asif Square and works as a chipper. He revealed that he went out to commit robbery for the first time alongside his Afghan accomplice, who managed to escape.
The suspect disclosed that both robbers travelled to Gulberg via Sohrab Goth, where they were confronted by the police. During the chase, he fell off the motorcycle while his companion fled the scene.
He further stated that his accomplice is also from Afghanistan and is a habitual criminal. Meanwhile, the police have launched a search operation to track down the escaped suspect.
