Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti has announced his resignation after the issue of poor accommodation and food for the national hockey team players in second phase of the Pro-Hockey League in Australia surfaced, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PHF President Tariq Bugti made the annoucnemnt at a press conference on Thursday. He said he has forwarded his resignation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Mir Tariq Bugti held Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) responsible for the situation of national team in Australia.
Tariq Bugti said in a press conference at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore that it was decided in the Standing Committee on Sports that the Pakistan Sports Board will look into all matters.
He said Federal Minister Rana Sanaullah's claim that funds have been provided is completely wrong, the funds are with PSB.
In the first phase to be held in Argentina, PSB did not provide funds on time, Tariq Bugti said. “I requested the FIH President to help us”, Tariq Bugti said.
He said more than $3,000 for the Argentina phase has been paid to the FIH yesterday.
In the second phase in Australia, PSB officials were reminded twice to book a hotel but I was told by PSB officials that we are afraid of audit para, Tariq Bugti said.
We were given funds four days before the team left for Australia and when the team reached Australia, the booking was canceled and instead of $50,000, $70,000 was demanded for rent, said Tariq Bugti.
In this situation, the team management made the best arrangement that could have been, Tariq Bugti added.
“I announce my resignation from the post of PHF President and demand a full inquiry from the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir”, Tariq Bugti said.
He further said we have decided to impose a two-year ban on captain Imad Shakeel Butt because he threatened the team management and picked up the phones of big people and said that the job was done.
He said Rs280 million were spent in three days in the Quaid-e-Azam Games but the national game was left helpless.
