The employees of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Thursday announced to lock offices from February 25 to register their protest against not receiving the sports allowance despite approval by the Board, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that 85 per cent house hiring had begun at all government offices from November 1, 2025.
However, they added, the order was still to be implemented in the PSB.
Sources informed that the Board management had started the provision of funds to its employees from grade-17 to grade-20, while the release of funds to the employees from grade-1 to grade-16 had been put on hold.
In this connection, PSB Employees Union thrice wrote to Director General PSB Yasir Pirzada, demanding the release of funds.
Sources disclosed that initially, the Board management agreed to give 50 per cent allowance, but later it brought it down to 20 per cent, prompting the employees to approach NIRC.
The court directed Pirzada to ensure the provision of funds to the Board employees from grade-1 to grade-16.
However, non-compliance with the court orders forced the employees to lock their offices from February 25.
It merits mention here that at a meeting held in 2024, the PSB management had approved 150 per cent sports allowance and 85 per cent house hiring for its employees, from grade-1 to grade-20.
