The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday granted one-day protective bail to lawyer and activist Imaan Mazari and her husband, Advocate Hadi Ali Chattha, in the controversial tweets case, 24 NewsHD TV reported.
The court also restrained the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) from arresting the couple in the said case till tomorrow (Tuesday).
The development came as IHC's Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard a plea filed by Mazari and Chathha.
During the hearing, the couple's counsel Kamran Murtaza apprised the court that the couple's bail was cancelled twice and an arrest order issued.
Justice Azam Khan issued a one-page written order, directing the NCCIA not to take the petitioners into custody until the next hearing.
The court also instructed the petitioners to remove objections raised by the office on their plea by tomorrow.
According to the court’s order, a further hearing in the matter will be held tomorrow, when the case will be taken up again after compliance with procedural requirements.
