Birds strike two planes in Pakistan

Two planes escapaed disaster on Saturday after they were hit by birds at Faisalabad and Lahore airports, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

in the first incident, a foreign airline’s plane, heading from Dubai to Faisalabad, narrowly escaped a disaster when a bird hit one of its engines while it was landing at the airport on Saturday.   

Sources told the 24News TV channel that the plane, FZ-391, however, safely landed at the airport after the pilot informed the control tower of the incident.  

Soon after landing, a team of engineers was called in which inspected the plane, sources informed. 

The team noticed that the engine had been damaged due to the collision and decided to ground it.  

In the second incident, a Karachi-bound Airblue flight averted a major disaster when a bird struck the plane at the Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA), Lahore.

According to the details, an Airblue flight was ready to take off from Lahore to Karachi when a bird struck the plane.

The pilot of the aircraft told the Airport Authority that the bird had hit the plane while crossing from the front. Later, the plane was parked.

A team of airworthiness experts examined the plane. An initial probe stated that the plane suffered minor damage.
