As many as seven Pakistani cricketers will take part in the Big Bash League to be played in Australia, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was selected in the platinum category of Brisbane Heat; Haris Rauf will again represent Melbourne Stars.
Cricketer Mohammad Rizwan was selected for the Melbourne Renegades. Shadab Khan will play for the Sydney Thunders.
Hassan Khan will play for the Melbourne Renegades, while Babar Azam has already been selected for the Sydney Sixers.
Fast bowler Hassan Ali will represent Adelaide Strikers.
Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam has reportedly secured a pre-signing deal with Sydney Sixers worth approximately Rs100 million (10 crore rupees), surpassing the base price for the Platinum category, which is around PKR 7.75 crore. Sources indicate that the Sydney Sixers made a strong offer to secure Babar ahead of the draft.
This marks one of the largest Pakistani participations in a single BBL season, highlighting the growing demand for Pakistani talent in global T20 leagues.
