The Iranian Football Federation has announced that it will formally approach FIFA over travel restrictions affecting the national team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to the federation, restrictions on travel to the United States are disrupting the team’s coaching staff's plans and creating unnecessary obstacles in the buildup to football’s biggest tournament.
The federation said the team was not granted permission to travel from its training camp in Mexico to Los Angeles on Sunday, a development that reportedly affected scheduling and administrative arrangements.
Iranian football authorities argued that all participating teams should be provided equal facilities and freedom of movement during a global event such as the FIFA World Cup.
The federation said it would seek FIFA’s immediate intervention to ensure fair treatment and smooth preparations for all competing nations.
