Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved construction of seven major hospitals including the Institute of Surgical Orthopaedic and Medical Rehabilitation and Children's Hospital Four in the Nawaz Sharif Medical District, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A special meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Friday reviewed issues related to public-private partnership.
The Institute of Surgical Orthopaedic and Medical Rehabilitation and Children's Hospital Four will be built in the Nawaz Sharif Medical District.
The Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and Burn Center and the Institute of Genetic and Blood Diseases will also be built in the Medical City.
Center of Excellence Nursing and Midwifery, Institute of Ophthalmology and Infectious Disease Hospital will also be built.
Seven major hospitals with 1,519 beds will be built in Nawaz Sharif Medical City in phases.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed happiness over the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority becoming fully functional after 19 years.
She also appreciated Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary Finance Mujahid Sherdil and CEO of Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority Dr. Zeeshan Hanif.
The meeting reviewed the possibilities of Public Private Partnership in 110 proposed development projects across Punjab in detail.
The proposal to establish a student hostel under Public Private Partnership for the first time in Punjab was considered in the meeting.
Roads, trucking terminal, bus stand, model bazaar and food under Public Private Partnership Streets project were also reviewed.
The meeting was briefed that four projects have been successfully functionalized under Public Private Partnership.
Feasibility of 27 projects ready, work on other projects is in full swing.
Four major CM initiatives also included in the Public Private Partnership plan.
FMD production plant in Nawaz Sharif Medical District, Time Travel Park Lahore, Shrimp Farming and Mines to Metal Chiniot project included.
Talking on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz said the journey of development in Punjab will continue in any case.
Maryam Nawaz said the aim of Public Private Partnership is to involve the private sector in the development process.
Under the vision of Public Private Partnership, development projects will be completed, Maryam Nawaz said.
