A speeding truck crushed an 8-year-old child to death in Baghbanpura area of Lahore on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to area residents, the truck violated the one-way road and fatally hit the child, who died on the spot.
Police said that the young boy was identified as Haris son of Suhail Omer.
However, local residents protested against the increasing number of accidents in Bassi Morr area.
They alleged traffic police do not take action against those who violate the one-way road.
Protesters said that three people have lost their lives so far due to one-way road violations.
Police took the body into custody and arrested the truck driver. Legal action was initiated after collection of evidence from the accident site, the police said.
