A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Monday issued arrest warrants for multiple accused in the high-profile attempted murder case of former PEMRA Chairman Absar Alam, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The hearing, presided over by Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry, focused on the progress of the case registered at Shalimar Police Station against six individuals accused of involvement in the shooting incident.
Hammad Suleman, one of the accused, appeared in court, while another accused, Ramzan, filed a request seeking exemption from attendance. However, Nadeem Asghar, Ramzan Iqbal, and other absentees failed to show up without prior notice. As a result, the court issued arrest warrants for the missing accused.
Absar Alam, the complainant and victim in the case, was also absent from the proceedings. His counsel informed the court that he would appear at the next hearing, and the court subsequently issued a summons for his presence.
The court has adjourned the hearing until June 21, directing all parties to ensure their attendance.
