Gold prices on Monday continued to rise in both international and local markets, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola jumped by Rs. 4,000, bringing the new rate to Rs 342,500.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3,429, now standing at Rs293,638.

The sharp rise in domestic prices is attributed to a sudden spike in both international and local bullion markets at the start of the business week.

The international gold rate surged by $40, bringing the price to $3,241 per ounce.

Meanwhile, the silver price per tola remained stable at Rs3,410.
