In a bold and clear message to India, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace while warning that the country will never tolerate aggression or Indian hegemony.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Lt Gen Chaudhry dismissed India's attempts to draw false parallels, saying, "The truth is that India is not the US and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel, and Pakistan is not Palestine."
His comments come in the aftermath of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, a retaliatory military action launched by Pakistan in response to India’s unprovoked aggression.
The operation, according to military officials, was "precise and proportionate," targeting only Indian military installations across multiple regions following intense cross-border escalations.
The Pakistan Air Force reportedly downed six Indian jets, including three Rafales and a Mirage 2000, as well as destroying an S-400 air defence system, in the four-day conflict that ended with a US-brokered ceasefire on May 10.
ISPR confirmed that 53 people, including 13 armed forces personnel and 40 civilians, were martyred in Indian strikes during the confrontation.
Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasised that India has failed to provide any credible evidence linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed.
He accused India of using the tragedy to justify state aggression and spreading terrorism within Pakistan.
“There is a lot of evidence linking India to terrorist activities inside Pakistan,” he asserted, noting that such evidence had been submitted to the International Court of Justice.
In a separate media appearance, Chaudhry warned India of catastrophic consequences if it attempted to block water flowing to Pakistan under the Indus Waters Treaty. “No one dares stop water from Pakistan,” he stated. “It would be madness to try and deprive over 240 million people of this essential right.”
Reiterating that Pakistan seeks peace, the DG ISPR cautioned that any future attacks or provocations would trigger a swift and forceful response. "We never bow to tyranny or threats, and we never will," he declared.
Despite the ceasefire, Lt Gen Chaudhry made it clear that Pakistan's armed forces remain vigilant and committed to safeguarding national sovereignty.
He underlined that the military adheres to government policy, respects international commitments, and remains professional and disciplined, even in the face of extreme provocation.
His comments echoed those of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who confirmed the downing of six Indian aircraft and praised the armed forces for their restraint and precision.
