National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in an informal conversation with journalists, dismissed talks of a no-confidence motion against him, expressing full confidence in his role and the support of assembly members.
“I have heard that a no-confidence motion is being brought against me,” Sadiq said. “Those friends who wish to fulfil this desire are free to do so, but I know many PTI members will not support such a move.”
Sadiq, who has previously served in the same role during politically turbulent times, appeared unbothered by the reported manoeuvring, saying, “Even if the motion is brought, their own people will not support them. I am satisfied, and my role as Speaker is in front of everyone.”
Reaffirming his commitment to impartiality, he noted, “As Speaker, I take care of everyone regardless of political affiliation.”
Shifting focus to the broader national landscape, the Speaker highlighted a sense of emerging unity amid recent challenges. “In the current situation, an atmosphere of national unity has been established,” he stated. “Those who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the homeland are our real heroes, and we salute them.”
“We have told the enemy that the entire nation is united in the defence and protection of the integrity of Pakistan.”
