As many as three people were killed while 12 were seriously injured in different incidents after a fierce windstorm lashed Peshawar, its adjoining areas and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) late Sunday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
In neighbouring Khyber, one person was killed while a tower and several solar panels fell down due to strong winds.
The deceased was identified as Socha Gul on whom a solar panel fell.
He was brought to Dogra Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
On the other hand, after a few days of scorching heat, temperatures in the upper parts of the country slightly dropped after strong gales accompanied by rain brought some relief to the people.
Light rain was reported from Islamabad, while strong winds and rain pounded Narowal and its suburbs.
The weather in Lahore turned pleasant too after the city was lashed by winds blowing at a speed of 11 kilometers per hour.
The Met Office said that there were only five to 10 per cent chances of rain in the city, while the maximum temperature would go up to 40 degrees Celsius, and it would remain 27 degrees Celsius on the minimum side.
Meanwhile, heat and humidity persist in Karachi where the temperature rose to 30 degrees Celsius early in the morning.
Winds were blowing at the speed of 15 kilometers per hour, while the humidity level in the air was recorded at between 65 and 75 per cent.
Rain forecast for upper, central parts of country
On the other hand, the Met Office said that rain, accompanied by strong winds, was expected at a few places in Islamabad.
It predicted extremely hot weather for the central and southern parts of the province.
However, it said that showers were likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Swabi, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Kurram, Khyber, Waziristan, Bannu, Kohat, Hangu, Karak and Dera Ismael Khan.
In Punjab, the Met Office said, the weather was expected to remain dry and hot in the southern parts of the province.
However, it forecast rain, accompanied by strong winds, for Murree, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Khushab, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mianwali, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Noorpur Thal and Bhakkar.
The Met Office said dry and extremely hot weather was expected in Sindh and Balochistan.
