Using Facebook to learn bomb-making: Lahore man jailed for two and a half years

An anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Monday sentenced a man to two and a half years in prison and imposed a Rs50,000 fine on him after it was proved that he was searching for information on how to make a bomb.

According to 24NewsHD TV, convict Hanan Abdullah had been on bail and he was arrested on the court premises after the court announced its verdict against him.

According to details, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a case against Hanan in 2022, accusing him of searching for bomb making techniques on Facebook.

Announcing verdict in the case today, ATC admin judge Manzar Ali Gul directed the authorities to shift the convict to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.

According to the prosecution, Hanan had been in contact with militants via Facebook. He was in contact with the members of a militant organization. The prosecution asked the judge to punish Hanan on the basis of the evidence that investigators have collected against him.
