The education authorities have failed to provide free education to 10 percent deserving students in private schools of Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
It was also revealed that most private schools in the districts are unregistered.
The Public Accounts Committee has sought details of the latest fee structure of schools and 10 percent free quota.
Data has also been sought about action was being taken against how many unregistered schools.
School Education Department has directed all CEOs to submit a report within 3 days.

On the instructions of the Public Accounts Committee, an audit of private schools has been started.
Separate data of fees of registered private schools was sought in all districts.
