An additional district and sessions court in Islamabad has sentenced Umar Hayat in an illegal arms case registered alongside the Sana Yousuf murder investigation.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majuka handed down the verdict under Section 13 of the Pakistan Arms Ordinance.
The court sentenced Hayat to two years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs100,000.
In case of non-payment of the fine, he will have to serve an additional month in jail, according to the judgment.
The arms case against Hayat was registered at Sambal police station.
