Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore met with delegations at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat Wednesday, pledging to restore public trust and address the state’s longstanding deprivations.
Speaking to the visiting delegations, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that Allah Almighty had given the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) the opportunity to play its role in serving the people of AJK. He highlighted that today, political participation has returned to the citizens, and there is renewed confidence in the political system.
“There was a time when people were on the streets and unrest prevailed, but now the flags of political parties are in the hands of the people, and trust has been restored in their hearts,” he said. He added that since the announcement of the new government, celebrations have been witnessed across the region, reflecting the revival of politics in the state.
The Prime Minister described the current six-month government as a “trailer of the government” and emphasized that it is part of a long-term strategy. Referring to the nine-month tenure of his father, Raja Mumtaz Hussain Rathore, he said that his father remains a leader in the hearts of the people.
“Power is a great blessing and a big test,” he said, noting that the current administration has assumed office at a challenging time when politics in the state was in difficulty. He underscored that hopes are attached to the people and all political parties of AJK, and the government is determined to deliver results despite the limited tenure.
Senior ministers also affirmed that the upcoming government after 2026 would continue to be led by the PPP, building on the foundations laid by the current administration.
