Police carried out extensive search operations across multiple areas of the city, checking a total of 1,271 houses, 642 shops, 63 hotels and profiling 1,978 individuals, officials said Wednesday.
During the operations, law enforcement authorities detained 38 Afghan nationals residing illegally.
Police teams also inspected two brick kilns, 15 junk shops, three bus and truck stands, and verified the tenancy details of residents in the targeted areas.
According to officials, 11 cases were registered against individuals who failed to record their tenancy information, while three separate cases were lodged after weapons were recovered from three suspects.
The operations were conducted in Pirwidhai, Ganjmandi, City, Waris Khan, Bani, New Town, Sadiqabad, Ratta Amaral, Race Course, Sadrwah, Naseerabad, Cantt, Morgah, Rawat, Chountra, Jatli, Mandara, Gujar Khan and Dhamial.
Police said the search operations will continue as part of ongoing security and verification measures.
