In a tragic incident, the bodies of a young boy and girl were recovered from a car garage in the Mahar Sharif area of Saddar Police Station, Narowal, police said on Sunday.
According to SHO Saddar Police Station Asif Naveed, residents alerted the police after detecting a foul smell coming from a garage in the neighbourhood. Upon inspection, police found the bodies of the two victims inside.
Preliminary reports suggest that the victims had been missing from their homes since Thursday, though no missing persons’ report had been filed by their families, the SHO confirmed.
Police have called forensic teams to the scene to collect evidence and determine the cause and time of death.
Investigators suspect that the couple may have been killed for marrying against their families’ wishes, though authorities have not yet confirmed the motive.
An inquiry is underway, and police have launched efforts to trace and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
