A test cricket match between Pakistan and South Africa will be played tomorrow in Rawalpindi. A comprehensive security and traffic plan has been implemented under the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, reported 24NewsHD TV on Sunday.
More than 5,500 officers of Rawalpindi Police have been deployed to ensure security during the practice sessions and the upcoming Test match.
In addition to this, over 367 officers have been assigned to manage traffic arrangements in the city, particularly around the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
According to police officials, senior officers are actively present in the field, inspecting and briefing the deployed forces. Snipers have been stationed on rooftops surrounding the stadium for high-level surveillance and immediate response if necessary.
A dedicated control room has been established to monitor the venue and nearby areas via CCTV cameras. Meanwhile, mobile units from local police stations, as well as Elite Force and Dolphin Squad personnel, are conducting regular patrols around the stadium to maintain law and order.
Authorities emphasize that the layered security plan has been designed to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators alike, while also maintaining smooth traffic flow in the city during match days.
