Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has temporarily deferred the collection of dues worth over Rs300 million in respect of bills of 48000 consumers of flood-affected areas, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to sources, bills from 43,000 domestic, commercial, industrial and tube-well consumers of flood-affected areas will not be collected.
The federal government had announced relief in electricity bills for flood victims.
Bills worth millions of rupees will be received in instalments.
The federal government will start collecting instalments in the specified months.
It is proposed to recover bills from flood victims in easy instalments of six months.
