Pakistan’s national padel team has qualified for the main round of the Asia Padel Cup after an impressive performance in the qualifying stage held in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday.
This marks Pakistan’s debut appearance in the FIP Asia Cup, with most players also competing in an international event for the first time.
Continuing their fine form, Pakistan registered a convincing win over Thailand in their second qualifying match to seal a spot in the main round.
Earlier, the team had also defeated China in their opening fixture.
In the match against Thailand, the Pakistani pair of Muhammad Salar and Abdullah Adnan clinched the first set 6–2, 6–3.
The second set saw Muhammad Kamil and Ashish Kumar continue the winning momentum, prevailing 6–2, 7–5 to secure the overall victory.
With back-to-back wins, Pakistan’s debutants have made a remarkable start to their journey in the Asia Padel Cup, raising hopes for a strong showing in the upcoming main round.
