Pakistan has responded swiftly to the accusation made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) that some Afghan cricketers were killed due to shelling by the Pakistani forces during the recent military confrontation between Pakistan and Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

In a tweet, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, while rejecting the accusation, said that the ICC pointed fingers at Pakistan without making any confirmation.

Expressing concern over the statement made by ICC Chairman Jay Shah, the minister asked him to immediately withdraw it.

He made it clear to him that the ICC’s claims had put question marks over its impartiality.

Furthermore, Tarar said that the statements made by the ICC, Jay Shah and the Afghan Cricket Board were part of a well thought out conspiracy.

He called upon the ICC to refrain from making such controversial statements and restore its impartiality.

He opined that sports and politics should be kept apart.

The minister also asked the council not to play into the hands of any country.
