Lawyer Muhammad Waqas Malik Friday filed a complaint with the Supreme Judicial Council seeking the removal of Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq from office on grounds of misconduct, reported 24NewsHD TV.
The complaint alleges corruption, bias and breach of oath. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq was also accused of giving decisions with personal grudge and bias. The judicial oath was violated by reserving the decision in the Maryam Fayyaz case for three years. The decision in the cut and weld vehicle case was also subject to unusual delay. The delay in decisions has damaged public trust.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq formed a group with fellow judges and influenced the work of the court. Confrontation was conducted against the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court and other judges. The complaint alleges that he ran a private law firm and exerted influence as a judge.
The complaint alleged that the proceedings of blasphemy cases were broadcast live to spread incitement. It is alleged that the judiciary was used for political purposes in collusion with lawyer Iman Mazari. Anti-military and anti-state narratives were spread.
