Mastermind of gang involved in replacing real gold of bank customers with fake gold arrested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to FIA spokesperson, accused Saqib Ali is the mastermind of the said gang.
According to initial investigation, the accused embezzled gold worth millions in collusion with other accomplices.
Accused exchanged real gold of bank customers with fake gold and is involved in embezzling gold worth Rs215 million.
Four cases are registered against the accused and he was absconding for the past several weeks.
FIA had been raiding several places to arrest the accused, who at last was apprehended using modern technological means.
Interrogation of the arrested accused in Gujranwala is underway and raids are being conducted to arrest other accused involved.
FIA is investigating other gold loan cases and special raid teams have been formed to arrest the accused.
Strict punishment will be given to the accused as per the law.
