Pakistan extended their winning streak at the Commonwealth Beach Handball Championship by beating Sri Lanka, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Green Shirts defeated Sri Lanka in their second match 2-0 with scores of 20-18 and 26-8. Asif Ali was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Earlier in their opening game in the tournament, they defeated their arch-rivals India 2-0 on Thursday. The Pakistan side asserted their dominance right from the start, taking the first set 26-9 before extending their lead with a 34-12 win in the second. Ahmed Hassan Baig’s stellar performance earned him the Man of the Match award in that fixture.
Pakistan will clash with hosts Maldives tonight at 8 pm in the event. The green shirts will then go head-to-head with South Africa and Bangladesh on Saturday.
