A seven-year-old girl’s body was exhumed from her grave for alleged black magic purposes in Rawalpindi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
According to the details, the incident occurred in the Dhamiyaal area, where a grave of a little girl was reshaped to look like its previous one after removing her dead body from it.
However, during this criminal act of desecrating the girl's grave, the shroud was left outside in a hurry, which exposed the exhumation.
Dhamiyaal police acted swiftly after getting information from the locals and arrested the suspect accused of dishonouring the girl’s grave.
According to the Dhamiyaal police, the accused had dug up the grave to perform black magic and later tried to restore it.
Police officials stated that after receiving information, they immediately responded and carried out a formal exhumation.
Initial investigations indicated no apparent signs of desecration to the body itself, but forensic reports are expected to reveal further details and confirm the final outcome.
Police officials added that forensic evidence was collected from the spot, and arresting the suspect had been a challenge that required the formation of special teams.
Dhamiyaal police affirmed that, in light of forensic reports and investigations, the suspect will be prosecuted with solid evidence.
