The authorities in Islamabad have outlined a strategy about how to deal with the protest of political parties which included a raft of measures including digging trenches on highways and setting up a control room to keep an eye on the developments, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to sources, after conducting a survey of all routes coming to Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it has been decided to dig trenches on all the highways in order to block the protesters.
The sources said trenches will be dug out near Chowrangi No 26 and Margalla Taxila. Barriers will also be installed on all the routes coming to the federal capital from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, a control room has been set up at Interior Ministry in Islamabad to monitor the law and order situation in the city. The monitoring is being conducted 24/7.
Live monitoring is being conducted of motorways, highways, commercial centres and internal routes in Islamabad.
The control room was also given access to high-tech cameras installed on motorways and key highways through Islamabad Safe City.
The control room is also facilitated with a hotline and wireless system.
The sources said a reported will compiled about every unpleasant incident happening in the federal capital.
